Synopsis:

Toom (Mai Davika) recently lost her job at a bank due to the economic crisis.  The company laid off several employees, including Toom, leaving her mostly confined to her apartment.

One day, someone leaves a package outside her door. Toom opens it, discovering a large sum of money. She calls a friend for advice.

Ignoring her friend's advice, Toom keeps the money. Two criminals knock on her door, asking about the package. Toom denies knowing anything and, after closing the door, moves the money.

The criminals don't believe Toom and try to force her to talk, but she unintentionally kills them. Toom then tries to hide the bodies and eliminate any remaining evidence.

This proves difficult. Toom's nosy neighbor nearly discovers her secret, and continuous threats and terror from other criminals force her to take further action.

Review:

The 6ixtynin9 series is a remake of the 1999 film of the same name, directed by the same director. It presents a unique dark comedy. The story's unpredictable plot and illogical scenes are captivating.

The story unfolds systematically and is easy to follow.  Each character's background is clearly presented. The conflict is evident and consistent from the beginning, although the resolution, particularly regarding Toom's fate, is somewhat unsatisfying. The director may have intended for viewers to interpret the ending themselves.

Like most dark comedies, this series features humorous and unsettling scenes, showcasing the dark side of humanity through its characters.

The acting is quite good. The music, sound effects, and color composition are also well-executed. The dialogue is appropriate.

The longer episode length doesn't make the series tedious. Unexpected scenes unfold in each episode. It's perfect for fans of this genre.

Memorable Scene:

The memorable scene depicts the deceased meeting a judge in the spirit world.  The interactions between each spirit are unique, reminding us that we will be held accountable for our actions in life.

Ending:

Cliffhanger

Recommendation:

Must Watch
