Day 69 Till I Die

June 8th, 2025

Hello, my love,

The saying, "What is destined for you will surely reach you," proved true today. Yesterday, I spent the entire day with a friend, intending to meet her.  It turned out she planned to cook meat, and I ended up sharing a meal with her—my first blessing of the day.

Secondly, while most people slaughter sacrificial animals on Eid al-Adha or the day after, my neighborhood did it today, and I received a coupon for some meat.  Had it been distributed yesterday, I likely would have missed out.

My blessings yesterday came through a friend, and today through the neighborhood head.  God's plan is truly perfect, even if we don't always understand it.

Remember how I wanted to buy shrimp a while back but all the nearby stores were closed? Today, without even thinking about it, I went to a nearby vegetable store to buy some groceries and, unexpectedly, found shrimp and bought some. Another "coincidence" orchestrated by God, who knows my needs better than I do.

I hesitated for a moment, unsure whether to buy them or not, but when opportunity presents itself, you must seize it, right? So I bought them.  Another lesson learned today.

I don't regret my decision one bit. I cooked them with noodles, and it was the most delicious dish I've ever made. I absolutely loved it.

God also spoke to me today through a conversation. Yesterday, my friend mentioned how challenging it is to remain idealistic in this world, suggesting it hinders survival.

We may have different perspectives. I strive to maintain my integrity and ideals.  This led me to think of Kenshin, the samurai from the movie I recently watched. He was an assassin but vowed to never kill again, using only his reverse-blade sword.

Several times, situations forced him to "kill," but he remained true to his vow, using his reverse-blade sword even when it put his own life at risk.

And here's how God spoke to me today.  When I went to collect my qurban meat, I arrived early and sat on a bench nearby.  I sat next to a stranger, but we ended up having a long conversation.

He shared his life story, his perspective, and more.  At one point, he indirectly touched on idealism, describing his experiences working in a place rife with bribery and how he struggled to maintain his integrity.

I believe God used this conversation to address my own doubts about remaining idealistic. I realized God often speaks to us, but we miss it because we aren't paying close enough attention.

Oh, and some debt collectors came to my place again today, following the letter I received a few days ago. It's really annoying, but I'm trying not to dwell on it, as worrying won't solve anything. Haha!

That's all for today. See you again tomorrow, if there is one.
