Review:
"Because there's no expiration date on believing"
Gudetama
is a character inspired when Amy saw the egg she used to prepare food after
work. She felt that the shape of the egg represented young people who are tired
after coming home from work. Although initially this character did not win in
the food-inspired character contest, Gudetama was well received by the public.
This
popularity led to the making of this series. The series uses a combination of
CGI animation and live action. Nevertheless, the result is very good and does
not look strange. Instead, it becomes a harmonious unity.
The
details of the images and each scene look smooth and dynamic. With the color
composition also presented well. Added with the selection of sound effects and
music that fits each scene.
The
story idea used as the main topic is very simple, namely about Shapiyo and
Gudetama searching for their mother. The background development of the story
and each character is clearly visible. The conflicts that arise and the
resolution of each episode’s conflict are done neatly. Although each episode is
only 10 minutes long, it can present a very interesting story.
The
voice actors do their jobs very well to represent each of the characters. Like
Shapiyo who has a cheerful tone, Gudetama who sounds a bit lazy, and other
characters. Each character also has their own role. No character or dialogue is
displayed in vain or without meaning.
This
film is not only entertaining but also presents thrilling and touching scenes.
It is very suitable for audiences of all ages. Especially with its not-too-long
duration, it can be a great choice for watching during free time.
The
most impressive scene is when Shapiyo tries to let go of Gudetama to be cooked.
Because she feels that maybe this is what Gudetama truly wants. However,
Gudetama chooses to stay and accompany Shapiyo in searching for her mother. In
this scene, we see that Gudetama puts aside his own needs and does not abandon
his friend. The spirit of solidarity shines through in this scene.
