Synopsis of Posesif

Lala (Putri Marino) is an outstanding student at her school. She excels academically and is also a talented synchronized diver who has won several championships. Following in her late mother’s footsteps as a swimmer, Lala is trained by her father, who is also a swimming coach. Despite the pressure she receives, Lala manages to handle her responsibilities well.

Yudhis (Adipati Dolken) is a rebellious new student at Lala’s school. On his first day, he gets into trouble after wearing shoes that do not follow school regulations, causing them to be confiscated. While trying to retrieve them from the teacher’s office, he meets Lala.

Lala and Yudhis are forced to spend time together after Lala is caught helping him get his shoes back. This punishment becomes the beginning of their closeness. Lala feels that Yudhis understands her in a way others do not. However, as their relationship grows, Yudhis slowly begins to influence her negatively, causing her to skip school and neglect her training.

Their relationship becomes increasingly complicated after they start dating. Yudhis’s possessive nature begins to appear. He manipulates Lala, hurts the people closest to her, and eventually becomes violent toward her. Every attempt Lala makes to leave only strengthens his obsession.

Will Lala and Yudhis’s relationship end well?

Review of Posesif

Posesif explores a sensitive issue that reflects the reality of many relationships. Inspired by research about domestic violence and unhealthy relationships, the film portrays how someone can become trapped in a toxic relationship and struggle to find a way out.

The story and character development are handled well. Each character has a clear background and personal issues that influence their actions. The conflicts are built gradually, and the ending is presented in a way that feels meaningful and thought-provoking.

At first glance, the film’s poster may make it seem like a typical teenage romance filled with sweetness and happiness. However, Posesif offers something much darker and more complex. The performances from the cast feel natural and convincing. It is understandable why Putri Marino received recognition for her performance in this film.

The supporting actors also deliver strong performances, and the chemistry between the characters feels believable. However, there are several scenes and camera angles where Putri Marino appears more mature compared to the other actors, making her seem slightly less convincing as a high school student. In other scenes, she looks much more like a teenager. This difference may come from makeup choices and visual presentation.

The music, sound effects, camera movement, and color composition are also well-executed. Together, these elements create a cohesive visual experience that strengthens the emotional atmosphere of the story.

Overall, Posesif is a film that offers valuable reflections, especially for those who have experienced or are trying to move on from unhealthy relationships. It reminds viewers that love should not require someone to lose themselves.

Memorable Scene

Lala feels pressured and confused when she has to choose between pursuing her own dreams and following Yudhis’s wishes regarding her university plans. Her father reminds her that her future is in her own hands and that she should have confidence in the choices she makes.

This scene shows how people can sometimes ignore what is best for themselves because of the expectations and demands that come with “love.” It reminds us that we still need to prioritize ourselves and build a future that belongs to us.

Memorable Dialogue

“It’s not your responsibility, you know. Whether Yudhis changes or not.”

Ending:

Happy Ending

Recommendation:

Must Watch
