Synopsis of My Best Summer:

Geng Geng (Haha He), with her good fortune, managed to get into her favorite high school even though she was in the lower ranks. When she saw the class assignments, she met Yu Hai (Arthur Chen) who turned out to be a high-achieving student. The meeting became interesting when their names were next to each other on the bulletin board. In Mandarin, Geng Geng Yu Hai is an idiom that means "Unforgettable Memory".

Geng Geng and Yu Hai are in the same class. Yu Hai forces Geng Geng to be his seatmate. Even though Geng Geng wasn't interested at first, she had no choice. Although their relationship wasn't great at first, they gradually became close to each other. Yu Hai's charm, being good at both sports and academics, captivated Geng Geng.

Yu Hai has actually liked Geng Geng since their first meeting. Yu Hai helps Geng Geng with her studies and makes her grades better. However, Yu Hai's mother, who knows about this, doesn't like it and asks for Geng Geng to be separated from Yu Hai. Geng Geng, who hears this, is quite upset and tries to stay away from Yu Hai.

This film is adapted from a web novel titled With You by Ba Yue Chang Ahn. It raises an interesting story idea about love stories among teenagers. A story that turns out to be very relatable to the lives of teenagers in general. This is what makes it interesting and easy to enjoy.

The choice of music, songs, camerawork, and color composition come together to make each scene more lively. Plus, the acting of the actors is also very natural, there's a strong chemistry between the actors. Although there are sometimes scenes that are a little illogical, it doesn't disrupt the flow of the story.

This film tells the story of two periods, namely teenage and adult time. The actors who play each character don't change. The difference is seen in the way they dress and the makeup they use. It can be said that the work of the makeup and wardrobe team is pretty good, because the difference in atmosphere from both periods is visible. The actors' acting also seems to change according to the characters they play.

From his acting in this film, Arthur Chen received an award for Best Newcomer. It can be seen that his acting is quite prominent. Arthur can show emotions and expressions quite well.
